In October, I announced the details of my 2016 Christmas card competition, inviting entries from primary school age children throughout the Motherwell & Wishaw constituency.
I was delighted with both the number and quality of the submissions received. There is no doubt that we have many incredibly talented, creative, and artistic young people in Motherwell, Wishaw & Bellshill.
I had a fantastic time looking through the entries and selecting the winners, a task which although enjoyable was also made very difficult by the number of great designs.
I am pleased to announce that the winners of the competition are:
Infants: Alfie Brown – Keir Hardie Memorial Primary School (Primary 1)
Juniors: Kian Oliver – Orchard Primary School (Primary 5)
Seniors: Morgan Carroll – Sacred Heart Primary School (Primary 7)
These three wonderful designs will now be used for my 2016 Christmas cards, sent both by post and electronically to friends and colleagues throughout the country.
I have this week written to all three winners and their respective primary schools to pass on both my gratitude and congratulations, and I look forward to awarding Alfie, Kian, and Morgan their prizes in the next week or two.
Finally, I would just like to say big thank you to all of the children who participated in the competition, and to the Headteachers, teachers, and other staff at each primary school who allowed and assisted the pupils to take part.
