EU Directives

9th December 2016

Yesterday I questioned the UK Government’s Attorney General as to what laws that citizens currently enjoy under EU directives could not or should not be enshrined under UK law if or when we leave the EU.

Once we leave the EU, Westminster will be responsible for securing our rights that the EU formerly did. This could mean that we would be entrusting the Tories to enshrine these rights in legislation – something that does not fill me with hope. The UK Government must provide assurances as to what rights could be removed and not attempt to sneak this important issue under the radar.
