This Week #43

13th February 2017

4th February – 12th February 2017

It was back to London on Monday for Marion, with a busy day of parliamentary business.

The evening saw a very late sitting for Parliament and Marion and her MP colleagues debated the conditions of the UK leaving the European Union.

On Tuesday, Marion attended a number of meetings and briefings at parliament, as well as working hard during the ongoing fall out of the Brexit debate.

Wednesday saw the usual agenda of various meetings and Prime Minister’s Questions, with Marion also announcing that she had written to Post Office Chief Executive, Paula Vennells, about the plans to franchise the Brandon Parade Crown Post Office.

On Thursday, Marion was hard at work in Westminster before travelling back to North Lanarkshire in the evening.

Friday saw a return to the constituency for Marion, with her monthly surgery at Theo’s Cafe in Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre providing the opportunity for local people to meet their MP and discuss their issues.

This also marked the day that Marion launched a petition against the plans to close and franchise 37 Post Office branches, including the Brandon branch in Motherwell.
