Last week, a Coffee Morning hosted by Motherwell and Wishaw MP, Marion Fellows, in support of MacMillan Cancer Support raised £273.39.
The event was held as part of MacMillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign with several other similar events being held across the UK.
Members of the public attended, along with clergy from local churches, training staff from Motherwell FC, organisers from community groups, and local Councillors.
Commenting, Mrs Fellows said:
Our Motherwell and Wishaw Coffee Morning in support of MacMillan Cancer Support was a great success. We raised an additional £273.39 in the space of two hours – all while stuffing our faces with cake.
I want to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who contributed cakes and other treats and all those who came along to support such an important cause that is extremely close to me.
I can personally testify to the services the incredible staff from MacMillan provide. They are wonderful and give support to people in their time of greatest need. They deserve to be recognised for their contributions to peoples’ lives.
For anyone who wasn’t able to attend and has a spare pound or two, I’d be thankful if they could donate to MacMillan.
