The UK Government has been warned of the impending Postmaster crisis for some time now and has done nothing but continued to manage the decline of yet another valued public asset.
The Post Office has agreed a new deal on banking transactions with Postmasters, but the network has a whole needs investment to preserve and re-establish larger Crown branches in town centres and also a new programme of services for communities and Postmasters alike. With banks closing left, right and centre, one key void the Post Office can fill is banking services.
