North Lanarkshire Council is giving communities the chance to decide how £500,000 is spent locally. £150,000 for Motherwell and £350,000 for Wishaw.
This is a fantastic initiative and is exactly what local government is about. Local people having their say over local matters. I hope to see more participatory budgeting in the future.
Residents of each community will be able to vote on what they want the money to be spent on, including playparks, environmental improvements and ideas celebrating local heritage.
To vote, you have to register by 18th of August at the latest.
