£350 RAISED FOR CANCER CHARITY AS LOCAL PEOPLE DIG DEEP
On Friday (13/09/2019), Motherwell and Wishaw MP, Marion Fellows, in support of MacMillan Cancer Support raised over £350 by taking part in their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
Marion’s Coffee Morning is one of many taking place across the UK to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Members of the public attended along with community groups; Motherwell and Wishaw MSP, Clare Adamson; local SNP Councillors Fiona Fotheringham, Agy Magowan, Ann Weir and Cameron McManus; and North Lanarkshire Provost Jean Jones.
Local people and groups all contributed cakes, teas and coffees to ensure the event was a success.
MacMillan offer support, tools and inspiration people need to find their best way through cancer diagnosis and treatment whilst tailoring support to individuals’ unique cancer journey.
Commenting, Mrs Fellows said:
“I want to provide my heartfelt thanks for all those who came along and donated money or food. It was fantastic to see so many people doing their bit for an incredibly important charity that is very close to me. Together, we raised over £350 so that MacMillan can continue to be a source of aid in times of distress.
“I know personally the great lengths MacMillan staff go to in order to support people and their families in their time of greatest need. Their contributions and dedication deserve to be recognised.
“Cancer can and will affect many of us in our lifetimes. Make sure to educate yourself on the warning signs and if you have a spare pound or two, please consider donating to MacMillan Cancer Support. Their support can make a massive difference to peoples’ lives.”
