PARLIAMENTARIANS’ BRING OPPORTUNITIES TO MOTHERWELL, WISHAW AND BELLSHILL
Motherwell and Wishaw MP, Marion Fellows, and MSP, Clare Adamson, have hailed their Jobs Fayre held on Friday (04/10/2019) as a great success.
Hundreds of people attended at the South Dalziel Historic Building over the course of the afternoon to seek new opportunities and gain support into work.
Several employers were in attendance including the Scottish Government’s new agency, Social Security Scotland, which is seeking hundreds of new staff for its new base in Glasgow.
Officers from the Lanarkshire Division of Police Scotland were also there as well as Network Rail and New College Lanarkshire.
Bodies to help people into work were also there to provide support for people returning to work after a break or looking for new opportunities, including Routes to Work and Dress for Success.
Commenting, Mrs Fellows said:
“The Jobs Fayre exceeded our expectations. People in Motherwell, Wishaw and Bellshill are ready and willing to work. I hope the event has helped people find new opportunities.
“I want to provide my thanks to all employers and prospective employees for attending. I’m glad to hear from so many that the event was worthwhile.”
Ms. Adamson said:
“The success of this event is only down to partnership working by those willing to come along and support Mrs Fellows and myself in improving employability in the area. I was delighted that local colleges were in attendance to promote modern apprentice.”
