JOB CENTRE APPOINTMENTS AND WELFARE PAYMENTS

24th March 2020

Whilst we continue to battle the spread of covid-19, the DWP have confirmed that claimants of all welfare benefits will continue receiving welfare payments without visiting their local Job Centres. You are NOT required to sign on or attend face to face consultations or medical assessments.

This will continue for the next three months unless government guidelines on this change.

New claimants of Universal Credit should apply online. There are additional questions on the application now in relation to isolation. Your assigned case manager will contact you once your application has been received by them. They will explain their temporary guidelines for providing your ID.

You will still be able to request an advanced payment without having to wait the usual 5 weeks.

As is the case with most guidelines during this period, these are subject to change, but I will continue to provide assistance and information for my constituents.
