Last week, I met with LANDED to discuss the work they do to educate young people across Lanarkshire on harm reduction in relation to alcohol, drugs, tobacco and sexual health.

LANDED educates young people through other young people using peer-to-peer support. They’ve found that instead of patronising them about dangers, they teach them about the facts without judgement.

The staff there are truly dedicated to helping young people make the right choices – especially those who score high on the Adverse Childhood Experiences measure. This is incredibly important to help our young people in Motherwell and Wishaw make the right choices. It’s one of the ways we can hopefully see a change in our culture and attitudes to alcohol and drugs which inevitably impacts our mental health.
