Leave Campaign Promises

During the EU referendum, the Leave campaign promised that if the UK voted to leave the EU, that the Scottish Parliament would gain more powers – particularly over agriculture and fisheries that had been transferred to the EU Parliament.

Following a question by my colleague, Angus Robertson, to the Prime Minister, she would not confirm these powers would be returned to Scotland as promised.

This follows on from the Supreme Court ruling that the Sewel Convention which would ensure agreement would be secured from devolved administrations in areas which are devolved, was not enshrined in law as promised by the UK Government. They are attempting to bolster their own Parliament while promising to strengthen our own.

This Tory UK Government are full of broken promises. They will say whatever they need to to hoodwink people. They have only their own interests at heart, not Scotland’s.
